Butter......and not as you know it!!

In a bid to consciously limit the toxins I put in and on my body...nail varnish was a product I had shelved until just recently.  Having spotted the product Butter in a few health food / beauty shops I thought I ought to give it a go.  Firstly, it's called  Butter.......that's enough to entice me in!!  The packaging is a classic style and it has London emblazoned on the front which adds a bit of chic!!  So, having selected my colour (the colour you see through the glass is a good guide, as opposed to some bottles of nail varnish that look nothing like the colour you thought you'd purchased) I skipped on home to try and test it and here's my run down.....

Application - It glides on pretty well (there's always a bit of a technique in the speed at which you apply the nail varnish).   I would recommend two coats.

Dry - It only takes a minute or so to dry.

Positive - NO Formaldehyde, Toluene or DBP.  From a quick google search, these appear to be the top toxic ingredients.  There are great colours and the packaging, name and application are all good.

Negative - Still smells pretty strong which begs the question 'what else is in there, or is being used instead of the nasty 3!??!'  It also lasts only 2-3 days before it chips.  Although it lasts considerably longer on the toe nails.

Verdict - Because it's good to feel the girly goddess and apply a coat of paint now and again it certainly gets my vote.  What's in a name?  Plenty as far as I'm concerned (Butter wins the day any day of the week).  For the girly factor and to be somewhat environmentally / humankind friendly i'm sold....and will be collecting some more colours!!
