The benefits of ginger include better circulation, improved digestion, assists with pre menstrual cramps, eases headaches, combats colds and flu....and much more.
From an Ayurveda perspective, ginger is used to counteract Vata (more on that another time).
So let us get practical!
- Chop or grate ginger and add with chilli and lemon juice to fish, wrap in foil (with a layer of baking paper between foil and fish, to make a parcel) and bake in the oven...yum
- Grate fresh ginger or use dried ginger (organic) when cooking porridge
- Add grated ginger with honey and fresh lemon to hot water....just for the love of it or when you have a sore throat / cold
- In a stirfry (fry garlic, onion and chilli in sesame oil / ghee, add veggies then throw on some tamari and top with some chopped almonds and cashews....super yum)
- Add grated to smoothies or fruit juices for a kick
A microplane grater is such a good buy for such things!!
