Of late, I have been looking for little things to make it more homey....at home. We have a fab little apartment and although I like the furniture and the way we have it....it's pretty minimalistic and doesn't really have a personality stamp on it................so am looking around for things.........that don't turn into clutter :)
But first, check this out....it's what I keep singing in my head today he he...so fitting for the candles talk :)
SO....one way of achieving the 'homey feel' is through candles. I did go on a soy candle making course about a year ago but to be honest I can't be doing with the fuss....much easier to shop ;)
I like non toxic things in my home so I always look out for soy and beeswax candles. Having them in your lounge is good as they create atmosphere and you can get yummy smelling ones.
Lighting one in the bathroom for when guests comes over is a nice touch one of my friends does. Also, lighting a mint, or eucalyptus one in the kitchen after cooking (which is what I need to do now after having eggs for breakfast) is also a good idea!!
Just make sure you remember to blow them out when you're done!!!
