Smoothieliscious no 4

  • 2 sticks of celery

Smoothies 101

I like to use mango or banana (or both) as they give a thick creamy consistency, just as though you were using dairy (without needing to).

You can add in any powders you are taking  i.e. glutamine

Great to have a serious, verocious, wood chopping blender for super smoothness.  However I have a $90 snazzy red Breville number and it does a great job.  Cutting up / breaking ingredients into bits, making sure there is water and / or blending bit by bit, adding as you go all helps!!  Start on low speed and increase.

Use fruits in season.  In autum / winter, pears and apples are great to use!!  Add something sweet like honey or a prune / date if it's a bit bitter / got too much of a bite.

Enjoy!!  Do you have any recipes to share?
